Reception, dinner and Oxford lecture 14 September!

The British Ambassador has very generously offered to host a reception on Thursday, 14th September, in his prominent Residence to celebrate the creation of a Norwegian chapter of the Oxford University Society.
Formal invitations for the reception will be sent out directly from the Embassy based on names and addresses provided by us. Those who returned the form should receive an invitation in due course. Those who for some reason have not sent in the form should send it to the given address as soon as possible in order to be included on the guest list. The form is attached. (No last minute solution here – sorry…)

The reception will be followed by a dinner at a venue not too far from the Residence .
We will do our outmost to arrange a menu worthy of the occasion while keeping the cost moderate (appr 650 nok/person for food and wine). More details about time/place later. It will be possible to take part in either one of the two arrangements, but we do hope to see all of you at both!  Please let us know if you want to participate at the dinner – just reply to this e-mail!

We have planned the event so that it coincides with the annual Oxford lecture organized together with University of Oslo . This year's distinctive speaker is Sir Neil Chalmers, Warden of Wadham College and former Director of The Natural History Museum in London . Sir Neil will speak on the topic "Making Science Public - the role of Museums today". Time and place is still to be confirmed, but we plan for 14:00 at Urbygningen, Teologisk eksamenssal. All of you who are interested are welcome. Sir Neil will also be present the whole evening that Thursday, as will Rector of the University.

We really hope that you can spend the evening Thursday September 14th together with us!

Best regards & wishes for the summer!
